Most aurora trips park you at one lodge and hope. This one has a chase vehicle and a guide reading the KP index and cloud maps nightly — if it's clear two hours inland, that's where you go.
February is the sweet spot: enough darkness for the lights, enough returning daylight that Lofoten isn't a blur. You get three nights of aurora attempts in Tromsø, then the drive south into the islands.
We're honest about the odds. Three clear-sky attempts in February historically gives you around an 80% chance of a real display. It is not a guarantee and nobody who tells you otherwise is being straight with you.

Daytime free in the city. Depart around 6pm to wherever the sky is clearest.
Morning fjord cruise, afternoon with the dogs. Second aurora attempt after dark.
Rest day by design — you'll want it. Final Tromsø aurora attempt in the evening.
Flight to Leknes, pick up the car, drive to the rorbu at Reine.
Self-drive the southern islands. Ryten if the weather allows.
North through the islands. The football pitch, the galleries, and a slow last evening.
Drive back to Leknes for the flight.
